ENVIRONMENT POLICY
Environmental Philosophy
The Mission statement of I-ne Group reads, “We are Social Beauty Innovators for Chain of Happiness.” Part of this Mission is to extend the chain of happiness to communities and the planet, as expressed in the following statement:
Extending the Chain of Happiness to Communities and the Planet
We can never maximize the effect of a chain of happiness if our businesses negatively impact people and the planet. It is our responsibility to address the environmental challenges we face today.
We commit to actions that will, directly or indirectly, create links in a sustainable chain of happiness. These actions include sustainable product development, community contribution through donations and staff volunteerism, and raising awareness of various issues through our brands.
Critical to this Mission is reducing the negative environmental impacts of our businesses. However, this task is not one that I-ne Group can accomplish alone. We must enlist the support of organizations outside I-ne Group who support our Mission. Through these partnerships, we will mitigate the negative environmental effects across all phases of the life of a product, including design, procurement, manufacturing, transportation, sales, use, and disposal. These efforts will lead to more sustainable communities and a more sustainable planet.
Environmental Policy
-
Combatting climate change
The climate crisis is real and poses a profound threat to the world, including to our own businesses. We will monitor and reduce the amount of CO₂ and other greenhouse gases that our businesses emit.
-
Conserving the planet’s limited resources
To reduce the negative environmental impacts of our businesses, we will save energy in product development and later phases in the product lifecycle, reduce waste, use resources more efficiently, and consider sustainability in our selection of packaging and raw materials. As a water-intensive business (plenty of water is used in the production and use of our products), we recognize that water is of particular concern and we will act to reduce water usage. We will also reduce production of materials that will become waste in the future.
-
Safeguarding biodiversity
We depend upon the world’s diverse biospheres.
As a direct initiative through our business activities, we at the I-ne Group are committed to ensuring the sustainability of resources used for raw materials and supplies.
Additionally, we aim to enrich the local communities indirectly affected by our operations and actively strive for biodiversity conservation through donations and social contribution activities. -
Environmental compliance
We will comply with international agreements (e.g. accords, declarations, pacts) on the environment, with legal and regulatory requirements that apply in territories where we operate, and with our own product-development standards.
-
Environmental due diligence
To ensure such compliance, we will build an environmental due diligence process. This process will involve regular auditing of our own practices and those of our supply chain partners to identify and address environmental risks and non-conformities.
-
Education and Training
We will inform members of I-ne’s Board of Directors and I-ne Group staff about the policy. We will also inform our business partners about the policy and routinely communicate our expectations to them.
-
Disclosure and Dialogue
We will regularly disclose our initiatives under this policy with the help of outside experts in global communications. We will also create a dialogue process to foster goodwill and engagement among our key stakeholders.
