We will strive to reduce the environmental impact of all aspects of our business activities.

01

Environmental Philosophy

The I-ne Group has set forth our mission, "We are Social Beauty Innovators for Chain of Happiness." The Chain of Happiness for society and the environment is expressed in the following words.

Chain of Happiness for Society and Environment

As we maximize the Chain of Happiness, it is crucial that we do not create burdens for people around the world or the global environment.
We are committed to acknowledging the changes in reality and will not turn our backs on them.
I-ne continues to be a part of positive chain reactions, both directly and indirectly, through sustainable product development, raising awareness of various issues through our brands, and engaging in social contribution activities such as donations and employee volunteering, aiming for a sustainable world.

We strive to reduce the environmental impact of all aspects of our business activities in order to achieve the Chain of Happiness. However, achieving this goal is not possible through our efforts alone.
We encourage our business partners, who we also consider as partners in the pursuit of Chain of Happiness, to support our values and aim to realize a sustainable world by minimizing the impact on the global environment throughout the entire product life cycle, from product development, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, sales, product usage, and disposal.

02

Approach to Climate Change Measures

The I-ne Group considers climate change a global issue and a major problem that affects our business. We have identified the "Carbon Neutral" as one of our high-priority issues (materiality) and aim to achieve the offsetting of greenhouse gases (Scope 1 and 2) by 2025.
Additionally, we will continue to work toward the goal of "carbon offsetting" for greenhouse gas emissions, including Scope 3, by 2040, as part of our efforts towards decarbonized operations.
Since we cannot achieve this goal with our efforts alone, we will encourage our business partners to support our initiatives and collaborate on the identification and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, particularly CO2 emissions, throughout our business activities.

03

Actions to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions

We have calculated the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of the I-ne Group following the globally recognized GHG Protocol guidelines. Over 90% of our total GHG emissions are classified as Scope 3, which represents indirect emissions, while Scope 1 and 2 emissions originating directly from our operations account for the remaining portion.

To initiate the offsetting of our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2025, we have successfully achieved the offsetting of Scope 2 emissions for electricity and heat supplied by our company in 2022.
The annual electricity consumption of our offices amounts to approximately 900,000 kWh, which is equivalent to approximately 267 tons of CO2 emissions. During the relocation of our Tokyo branch in November 2022, we effectively switched to using electricity derived from renewable sources. For our other offices, we have reduced CO2 emissions to virtually zero in Scope 2 through the use of FIT non-fossil certificates with tracking mechanisms.
